ThinkGeek’s 8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt: Bringing Zelda Hearts Close to Your, er, Heart

Ah, “Valentines Day”: two words that are both a burden to couples and a slap in the face to single people everywhere. And it looks like now even nerds have their own specialty choice of gifts to give/receive. Take ThinkGeek’s “8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt” for example. A concealed battery pack lights up the Zelda-like hearts depending on how close you are to someone else wearing the same shirt. At a distance, only two and a half hearts are lit up; but if you get closer to the other person, all the hearts will begin to light up. Or if you’re single, you can buy one shirt and get a receiver to set next something you adore. Then you can sit next to that object all lit up and think about just how sad that is.

where can i buy the shirt
Shirts don’t work. I just recieved my parcel from DHL and plugged in the batteries; surprise, surprise – no joy. Even if the shirts are placed on top of each other, neither of them will light up the rest of the hearts. What a rip-off.
