EA’s Rod Humble, the head of The Sims studio, announced an invitation to participate in a special closed beta of the new online community and game, The Sims Carnival. This latest Sims title allows gamers to design casual games with provided creation tools online or a more advanced tool set available for download.

According to the statistics, Sims fans spend half their time designing. In my experience, they spend most of the other half online looking for skins, recolored and new objects and global mods for their Sims. I don’t actually see my family “play” with their families that much. This new game The Sims Carnival may actually have something by encouraging the skinners and mod enthusiasts to take their hobby one step further. At the same time, the collectors will be besides themselves as they grab every new game that comes out.
