Anticipating The Witcher? Well to coincide with the European launch on Friday (note this is one of those games that actually hits Europe before the US) CD Projekt Red has the game registration page up and awaiting the throng of buyers. Along with tips and some multimedia goodies aimed at owners the site also promises that the game’s first patch will be available for download as well on the 26th of October. Who knows if the Atari localized version will be ready.

I’ve given my fair share of The Witcher hype over the last two years, it’s almost cathartic to see it finally hit the streets and I can’t wait for the US release next week. The game, for those who managed to escape my slavish fan-boyish promotions (despite a lukewarm impression at E3 this year), features the main character of a Polish novel series who is not quite human and uses his supernatural powers to hunt down things that go bump in the night – things just slightly more scary than he is. The game is hard core horror-fantasy and aimed at adult/mature gamers so the kiddies or those adverse to a little violence and a lot of deep story with dark overtones probably should pick up the latest Katamari game instead.
