We have a new gameplay video of The Witcher hosted on FileFront for your viewing pleasure. Due to the fact that the game as yet to be rated by the ESRB, you will have to first go through an age gate to view it.

In the video we get to see the hero Geralt walk around town, run through some fields and hack a few enemies to pieces. The game looks gorgeous and it appears that the Neverwinter Nights engine the developers used to create the game has been put to great use. The music seems to fit well with the game and while watching the video it gave me that sad Incredible Hulk feeling – you know, when Bruce Banner would drift from town to town looking all forlorn and they would play that depressing music. Kidding aside, you get an idea of what a lonely life it is to be a Witcher. The video also shows us a bit of the items menu – I could not tell if it looks simple or complicated because it whizzed by so fast, but from what I could see it looks graphically different from what we are used to in the RPG genre. The only beef I have with the video is that it is too dark at certain points – especially when he is fighting an enemy in what appears to be a dungeon.

All in all, this looks like a game that I am going to enjoy – hopefully Atari and CDProjekt will iron-out the few issues they were having when Shawn got get his hands on the game during E3. Look for The Witcher to hit stores October 30th.
