The Wii is Everywhere These Days, Even at the Oscars

I only caught about the middle half hour of the Academy Awards last night, but it was quite a surprise to turn on the TV and suddenly see Jon Stewart playing Wii Sports on stage. I think this is about the best proof that the Wii is almost everywhere these days. That and the fact that I seem to be having the same conversation over and over with people (mostly women) who say they hate video games, but want to buy a Wii. But anyway, that was probably the second coolest Oscar moment from the parts I saw (the first coolest being Once winning for Best Original Song).

It’s not just the number one selling console. It’s officially a cultural phenomenon.
Well as a woman myself, I can tell you that I LOVE videogames and I own a Wii. Most of my female friends are into more “casual games” (solitaire, poker, etc.) but hate those mindless games where you have to shoot people just to move to another level where you have to shoot at MORE people. They think it’s stupid and a waste of their time. They also don’t get so emotional over graphics as some of you guys do. So maye that’s why they claim to hate videogames when in reality they only hate the type that those 400 pound nerds crave and lust after (FPS games).
And Jon Stewart was much better this time around.
