In honor of Star Wars hitting the ripe old age of 30, the franchise’s iconic bad guy, Darth Vader, is getting a makeover. Well, not entirely, but several artists and designers are getting the chance to go hogwild with his image, as a number of Vader helmets were distributed for them to customize. It’s part of Star Wars Celebration IV at the L.A. Convention Center. The whole project is presented by Master Replicas, and the curator of the event, Dov Kelemer, brought together a whole host of known and unknown artists to put together the different displays:

“They come from all different backgrounds. On one hand you have this urban graffiti street art culture, the lowbrow pop surrealist group, then there is the whole culture of Asian inspired ‘cute’ art, rock poster art, and Japanese Kaiju, of course.”

Just from a glance, no two artists seem to have created displays that are even similar to each other (except for Vader’s mask of course).
