The Truth in Video Game Rating Act is back. The bill which died a nice quiet death last year is rising like a phoenix thanks to “I wanna be prez†Senator Sam Brownback. The nuts and bolts of it goes something like this: The ESRB isn’t rating things fairly, and we want the government to play thru every single game in it’s entirety before they are rated. While that’s a gov. job I’d love to have, it doesn’t make much sense, what with open ended persistent worlds being the dominant trend. FYI government types, our ratings are voluntary. Keeps jacking with it and maybe we do away with it all together. Thanks. Now why don’t you go fight poverty or something.
