When there’s literally thousands of independent games clogging up the internet, it’s sometimes hard to determine which ones are fun and which ones are yet another Breakout knock-off. Thankfully, the people over at Game Tunnel have made the task of sifting through a turd pile for a single gem a little easier with their list for the Top 100 Independent Games. Every game on this handy list is worth at least a look. Also, many of the games listed either have playable demos or are 100% free to give you several hours of varied gameplay experiences. My personal fave: Bookworm Adventures (shown above). If you like RPGs and Scrabble, then you’ll love this game. The one time I spelled “consequential” and practically took down one of the bosses with a single word is still ranked up there with my top gaming moments.
