thesims2 store The Sims 2 Store Goes LiveEA has announced that The Sims 2 Store is online, and ready for shoppers across Canada and the US. Sims fans can purchase thousands of items for their Sims 2 games including many that were formerly only available in expansions and stuff packs. As an incentive, EA is giving away six free items for download to new registrants at The Sims 2 Store.

EA is cashing in on the trade already going on over the Internet. There are several sites among the hundreds of free sites that charge a nominal fee or subscription for custom content downloads. I can understand offering players the chance to buy individual items or outfits from expansions and stuff packs that they may not have had enough interest in over all to purchase. However, I hope this isn’t the beginning of a crusade to bring down free trade of modded items.

I wonder if this is a signal that they won’t be releasing another 42 expansion packs?

    Haha, what a silly thought.

  2. Justin says:

It makes me sick. I can’t believe they feel they have a right to charge up to 1.00USD for a measly object.
