The Settlers: Rise of an Empire – Demo to be Released August 23

Thats right, you read the heading correctly. The Settlers: Rise of an Empire will have a demo available for download on Thursday, August 23rd and you can bet the farm that we will have it on FileFront. Rise of an Empire is a strategy game where you build medieval cities, help them to prosper, protect them from attacks, and eventually become the King or Queen of your own little empire. You can continue your building spree by going to the Arctic or Africa. The graphics look amazing, the real-time combat to the game offers a nice challenge, and the character details are top-notch.

In the demo, you can play two single player maps. The first map is a tutorial that will explain the basic functionality of the game. The second map, Arroyo, is a single player map in the “free settle” mode: You can build a settlement at your own pace in this South European setting. With the demo version, you will receive a document that will help you play the game which will include a “Demo Guide” with tips on how to succeed and two sample economy cycles explaining you how to gather and process resources. There are a few known issues with this demo, and the developers are working hard to get these corrected for the launch of the game in September, so do not be surprised if you encounter any and do not let that influence your decision when contemplating purchasing Rise of an Empire.
