This Hitman movie has ties to the game in one simple way. There's a guy in it, who has a UPC code on his head. That's it. It's not the same guy. He doesn't do the same things. The storyline is completely different. However, you should be aware of something. There IS a Max Payne movie in the works. The Max Payne movie was originally slated for release in April 2007, but production has been delayed. It is unknown when filming will begin on the movie adaptation and when it will subsequently be released. The writing credits currently include Sam Lake (the writer and actor for the original Max Payne series) and Shawn Ryan, whose credits include writing for The Shield and The Unit." This movie is obviously another Hollywood video game bastardization. Everything about it screams lame. I have nothing against Olyphant, I know he's doing his best. But they totally missed IO's vision when casting and scripting 47 in this movie. He's a 7 foot tall lumbering assassin, not some 6 foot athletic acrobatist. Leon: The Professional is a closer representation of 47 than this movie. Even thought I haven't seen it, I'm already selecting to boycott Hitman: The Movie based on the trailers alone.
