The Hotel Chase Scene from Hitman Movie

Okay, I’m starting to feel a little better about the Hitman movie. Just a bit. This clip from the upcoming Hitman film shows Agent 47 escaping from a hotel while some heavily armed police officers (or some other organization) do a terrible job of stopping him. It’s not very much like the game, but the action is still pretty cool, as is the cameo by the source material. But if Timothy Olyphant does that “guns crossed over his chest” thing more than five times in the movie, I’m not going to be happy. And believe me, I will be counting.

Thanks to Rob for the heads up!

    Weak.

This movie is obviously another Hollywood video game bastardization. Everything about it screams lame.

I have nothing against Olyphant, I know he’s doing his best. But they totally missed IO’s vision when casting and scripting 47 in this movie. He’s a 7 foot tall lumbering assassin, not some 6 foot athletic acrobatist. Leon: The Professional is a closer representation of 47 than this movie.

Even thought I haven’t seen it, I’m already selecting to boycott Hitman: The Movie based on the trailers alone. I have way too much respect for the game to support yet another Hollywood exploitation.

What’s next? Max Payne The Movie?

Steve, you are totally right. This Hitman movie has ties to the game in one simple way. There’s a guy in it, who has a UPC code on his head. That’s it. It’s not the same guy. He doesn’t do the same things. The storyline is completely different.

However, you should be aware of something. There IS a Max Payne movie in the works. I found this quote out in the ether of the net:

“It has been confirmed through The Hollywood Reporter that 20th Century Fox has bought the rights to bring the game to film. The Max Payne movie was originally slated for release in April 2007, but production has been delayed. It is unknown when filming will begin on the movie adaptation and when it will subsequently be released. The writing credits currently include Sam Lake (the writer and actor for the original Max Payne series) and Shawn Ryan, whose credits include writing for The Shield and The Unit.”

Oh, and it looks like Mark Wahlberg is playing Max: http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/11/09/mark-wahlberg-is-max-payne/

There’s also an independent film version here: http://www.payneandredemption.com/

hi the film is ok except for the lack of detail and the length could be more than 1 & half hours.

i just wanted to know has anyone noticed when he jumps out of the window and swings into the one below, did anyone seen when the chinease couple turn around to the tv that the tv actually looks like a screenshot from one of the games.
