The Face of Halo’s Master Chief

This video has been circulating around the net, and it pretty much shows the face of Halo’s resident action hero, Master Chief. The face can be seen thanks to two players inn the beta who worked together to force the camera inside his helmet. Granted, it’s really shadowy and all you can really make out are some basic facial features, but it’s this is still the first tiem we’ve really seen anything underneath that helmet. I’m mostly surprised they actually put anything resembling a face behind the mirror-like visor though.
and his face is like.. evil and corrupted from war.

Ive got a little fact for you,Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson survived the explosion of the first Halo by escaping in a Pelican drop ship with three other soldiers. They hid in the debris of Halo before being found by Master Chief and Cortana, who were flying in a Longsword fighter. First Strike details the Sergeant Major’s rare medical condition, Boren’s Syndrome — a nervous system defect resulting from heavy exposure to the electromagnetic fields caused by plasma. Johnson contracted this condition by using a full crate of plasma grenades while he held off the Covenant during the Siege of Paris IV to allow his squad to be evacuated. This condition saved him from the Flood’s ability to infest the minds and bodies of hosts; the abnormal frequencies in his nervous system served as a buffer, keeping the Flood out of his mind. As it protects him from Flood attempts to control him, he gains a curious regenerative ability. The Master Chief omits this information from Johnson’s survival report, as Johnson would have been forced into ONI’s experimentations and die from dissection had he left it in.
In the gallery section of the Halo Graphic Novel, one page depicts a private conversation and a data log from a blocked attempt to read Johnson’s private file. In the conversation, it is implied that ONI fabricated the Boren’s Syndrome story to conceal the fact that Johnson is a Spartan-I, and that he may have taken part in a highly classified operation involving the assassination of a Naval Officer.

MC is cool and all but i think it would be sick if you could be a marine in multi or campaign. You would just have health and maybe some armor you have on your body but no shield. hopefully IF they make a 4th one i wanna drive one of those sick HUGE cruisers tat would be sick

sorry ya’ll, but before they decided not to go with a face so that everyone could feel like he could be anyone, at least for the games since in the books he’s still white anyways, they were gonna have him take his helmet off in #2 and it was gonna be the face of a white guy you’d have been looking at, sorry, nothing but white, but they decided to just not take the helmet off because, well, obvious reasons….
master chief looks like that because as stated in halo3 he is the fore runner

What I don’t understand is why do they even NEED to put a face in there???? They DONT!!!! Just put the helmet on and ur done…ya got a spartan….and this is the only reason why this is suspicious to me….Has anyone ever tried doing this with a female spartan by the way????? Wonder if you’d get a different face……….
Ummm Ok i have something to say about the Promo Vid. Master Chief A.K.A John 117 is the little kid to the right from our view. The reason you cant see his red hair is because its so dark. And the other one is his close friend he had on earth that was taken to the spartan program. And a funny thing about that vid is at first you see a worthog when he gets up then is a quad lol….weird.
I think its Steve Downes (the guy who plays the voice of master chief) under that helmet.

Inside the helmet is the face of a generic SPARTAN-II or (most likely) SPARTAN-III.
Master Chief’s face would be different. Bungie most likely placed that face under the helmet to make people speculate upon it and maybe drag more hype out of the masses.
The books describe John (at a young age) as a boy with brown hair and freckles, with a gap in his teeth. I can see how the tests on Reach and his missions with Blue Team would have altered his appearence, but I don’t exactly see it being so dramatically altered that it looks like the face in the video. Some scars are expected, of course.
tl;dr, that is not John-117. That is a SPARTAN-II/III

Are you people stupid? First – you dont play as the master chief in multiplayer.. so continue on imagining that ur seeing his face.

hey is’it that the same scar from 300 becasuse if you have seen the movie you can see that this dude hits the other dudes helmet then he leaves that scar maybe it’s the same shit as 300 if you seen it because in 300 they’er from sparta and ther spartins if you listen to the beganin of the movie or go to youtube and put halo 300 trailr listen close and you’ll see that it’s like the same but in moder or even futer day so that leave’s you something to kinda thik about

Half of the people claiming to have read the books are wrong! And most of the people who haven’t are wrong. MC is not the last Spartan, there’s a Spartan III and Kelly out there. And if any other girls read the book… you’ll notice MC is meant to be ATTRACTIVE! Scarred, yes, but NOT UGLY! This may be a face, but I doubt it is John’s true face. John? you ask? Read the books.

You know what I think, I think that in Multiplayer you play as Spartan III’s because in the book Ghosts of Onyx the Sprtan III’s have whats called Semi Powered Infiltration Suits. And do to that there are many different types of the armor unlike that Mjlonir armor which only came in 3 forms. Which led me to believe that you play as Spartan III’s in the multiplayer setting.

Master chiefs face is going to look diffrent from a reguler spartan its not that every spartan will have a diffrent face its that they have a spartan face and master chiefs face. spoilers. and any way halo 3 has already been released and yet agian they didn’t show hes face even in legendary ending
