The Chronicles of Spellborn Combat Walkthru Trailer

There is another new video out showing off the combat systems of the upcoming Chronicles of Spellborn MMO. I admit I’m one of the folks out there who is eagerly awaiting a chance to jump into this game.

The video displays a lot of the kinetic nature of the combat. Unlike say WoW, players in these vids are always in motion and it apparently has a real effect on the outcome, and unlike most MMORPGs it appears as though the cosmetic nature of clothes and weapons is just that – players will succeed based on their abilities and skills, not by having +4 Godsmashing Longswords and +17 Boots of the Gaseous Lord of Speed equipped. Its always been a strange dynamic in games that players will often abandon the best statistical gear to better adorn their virtual personalities in game and its nice to see an MMO really acknowledge that tendency in its design.
