The reason shops wont have cards for sale is simply because there isn't demand for them. Magic The Gathering isn't really a fair comparison because you only have to buy cards to play that therefore its target audience is much larger whereas Eye Of Judgement requires you to have made an outlay of nearly $500.

I believe the game has sold around 200,000 worldwide so what shop is going waste valuable shelf space on such a small market?

I think you will only really be able to tell if this game has been a success in a few years time as the PS3 install base increases. If it does take off you will find the cards in smaller shops and there will be a lot more packs available.

BTW doesn't the PlayStation Eye use a USB plug?

@John: Your points may be good ones. I think its unfair to assume I held a grudge because I was beaten or what have you. That's actually not what I found. Over the 20 games I played doing this review I lost about 20% of them. I actually found that surprising since I expected to lose more often and I wasn't displaying any great strategic understanding of the game - I simply played the cards dealt to me.

As I mentioned I did not have more than the initial starter and sealed boosters - because I couldn't find the darn cards. I don't live in the middle of nowhere - and I didn't buy them online as Norbit suggested above because I was not sure I wanted to invest in the game long term.

It sounds from your response that you're very excited about the game. I'm glad it has found an audience. As I say my biggest issues with it are the logistical ones. The concept itself was interesting to me as a hybrid videogame/CCG. Maybe the new cards will add more depth to the game but I'm not someone who will be continuing to invest in it.

My review is based on my impressions of the game as its delivered out of the box. Which is what I was tasked to do as a reviewer. I'm glad you chose to share your perspectives since you had a different experience obviously than I have.

These kinds of games seem way to deep and involved for me to enjoy playing them.

Can't really take this review seriously. Here's why:
1. Online aspect of EOJ is its biggest strength. I'm guessing you got your butt handed to you a few times that you went online, and blamed your lack of skill/tactical approach on other people's good luck or better cards.

2. If you don't have many cards, you can't really complain about the game not being deep. Out of the 110 (soon 210) cards, there are so many options it's ridiculous.

3. You'll find plenty of former Magic players on EOJ forums claiming that EOJ is a far better and deeper game, despite (and maybe even because of) it's simplicity. There certainly aren't any broken cards - can you say that about Magic - I didn't think so.

True, but if I look hard enough I can find anything on the net.

The issue here is I shouldn't have to look that hard to find cards for a game like this - especially since I can find Magic and WoW cards at the local grocer next to the check out. I also know that the cards I did find were not in the store until two weeks ago - and the game has been out since November - can't be a good distribution strategy for WotC.
