The UK’s gaming magazine Edge releases its picks for the 100 Best Videogames tomorrow. The 260 page compendium will contain 100 articles, personal testimonies from Edge readers and a reference section of previous Edge 100 lists. This list was tabulated using thousands of votes from Edge readers nominating hundreds of games of the last 30 years, followed by a second round of voting by “creatives working in the videogame industry,” and ending with the decisions of the Edge editorial staff.
Here is their Top 10.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
- Resident Evil 4 (Multi)
- Super Mario 64 (N64)
- Half-Life 2 (PC, Xbox)
- Super Mario World (SNES)
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
- Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox, PC)
- Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
- Tetris (Multi)
- Super Metroid (SNES)
Try to figure out the other 90 from the cover.

omg, Goldeneye.
that has to be one of the worst top 10 games ive ever seen!
Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time SUCKED
METAL GEAR SOLID should be there along with PRINCE OF PERSIA
are we just talking console-based games then? If not, im lead to wonder why theres not a hint of Counter-Strike, or World of Warcraft.
i think the best games should be METAL GEAR SOLID TWIN SNAKES, CALL OF DUTY(ANYONE), STARFOX ASSULT, SUPER SMASH BROS.(ANYONE), AND THE LEGEND OF ZELDA(ANYONE)
AND METROID PRIME(1,2&3)
OH, ALSO GEARS OF WAR AND HALO 3
