Thank Admin Error For £35 Xbox 360 offer

Tesco is blaming an admin error for an online add posted yesterday listing an Xbox 360 bundled with two games and an extra controller for a mere GBP 34.99 (EUR 50). That’s USD 73.46.
The supermarket had the add up only briefly yesterday before it was inundated with orders and discovered the foul up.
“Unfortunately, there was an error in the product details at the time that you placed your order, the Wireless Entertainment Pack does not include an Xbox 360,” said an email to customers waiting on their order.
“As a result we have had to cancel your order. We apologise for this error,” said the retailer.
So much for the advertised price is guaranteed by law.
False advertising!

Maybe its not guaranteed by law for Euro companys.. thats a state side thing.

its definetly illegal here in britain, so you could actually sue them for false publicity, but i’m not sure about anywhere else.
It is not illegal in Britain, the law states that if its obvious that a price is an error then the retailer does not have to sell at that price, the only time they have to by law is when they have debited your credit/debit card because then a legal contract as been formed.
Actually, that’s not true. Any advertised price, be it correct or wrong, has to be honored by the retailer (in the UK) as it is the price they put up. Error or not, if you have ordered it and have done so with that price in mind, they can’t refuse you.
However, we’re talking about Tesco here and they seem to be able to get away with it. I feel sorry for those who ordered, because they were entitled to it.
