Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online Update Now on PlayStation Store for $10

The first online Tekken is now available for download from the PlayStation Store. The game features custom matches, ranked games, voice chat, lobbies – which allow you to view matches – and leaderboards, which are all pretty much par for the course, but considering this is a downloadable game and the first in the series to support online, it’s a decent start. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was released (sans online multiplayer) earlier this year for $19.99. This $9.99 update requires that you already own Dark Resurrection in order to play. There’s a bundle with both items included for $29.98; there’s no discount, so it’s good for nothing more than saving you a few button presses.

1080p support and online multiplayer for $30 is a pretty good value for Tekken fans. Even if the rumors of an online update for the PlayStation 3 version of Virtua Fighter 5 come true, this is still $10 cheaper than the current retail price of VF5, and has the benefit (or drawback, depending upon how you look at it) of being available through the PlayStation Store.
