Teen Arrested For Writing “PS3 Sucks” On Game Cases At Toys R’ Us

I’ve heard many stories of fanboyism going way too far and this is definitely a case of that.   In Anderson, Georgia, a 13 year old PS3 hater was caught writing “PS3 Sucks” on game cases at his local Toys R’ Us.   The suspect vandalized approximately 23 cases and was subsequently arrested by police. When questioned about the incident, he replied ““I have an Xbox and I hate Playstation. I found the marker lying on the shelf and I guess I was bored. Sorry.â€Â Instead of researching the violent effects of video games, perhaps society needs to do more research on fanyboy fanatics and what causes them to do these moronic things. Brand loyalty in the video game world is really astonishing. Can’t we all just get along?

Hmm… I’ll have to agreed with that “Can’t we all just get along?” all and all, all the games are pretty much alike, just different console or requirements to play them on. I don’t see why so many fanboy/girl battle among their preference, as for the excuse of “I was bored” I would had not allowed it, he knew what he was doing, he even said “I have an Xbox and I hate Playstation”. Just so many foolish behaviors when it cames to game console or distributed games.
Yeah.. the whole thing concerning Fanboys boggles my mind. There aren’t too many industries out there with such fierce brand loyalty. Perhaps the only thing that comes to mind is the Southern folx in the U.S. who have violent arguments over the Ford vs. Chevy thing. I never joined in on that argument. I drive a Honda Civic since it’s environmentally friendly and will last for several hundred thousand miles. lol

I personally prefer the PS3, this opinion is based soley on the cold, hard facts and hardware comparisons of both consoles, i know people who prefer the xbox but that doesn’t mean we take our preferences to such an extreme as this stupid little kid did. The furthest it goes is a friendly debat but at the end it’s settled by accepting each others difference of opinion.
I don’t think this “console war” is helped by certain games only being released on one of the two consoles.
I think this incident was just a stupid, opinionated little boy being just that.
Considering gaming is meant to “unite” players from all over i agree that it’s stupid that there has to be such a fued, but at the end of the day it’s two very big companies competing in the same market.

I would say on a personal level, I prefer the hardware side of the PS3 and the game library side of the Xbox 360. People that read my stuff know that I am not a Wii fan, but I do believe the Wii is a viable system for some gamers.
We all definitely take sides as gamers, but there’s no point in taking an opinion to the extreme considering each system has it’s own set of bonuses.

I played Raving Rabbids on a Wii 2 days ago. Must be played with 1 or more friends. It owned all. Even considering getting a Wii before my 360 (Halo-3 fast approaching).

Playstation 3 is ridiculously expensive and games on both 360 and PS3 tend to lag and suffer performance-wise on the PS3. However, the upcoming PS3 games such as MGS4 and SH5 really interest me.
Xbox 360 is built like crap. What is Microsoft’s problem? I definitely would never put down money for a console that suffers the hardware failure rate of the 360, no way. They seem lately be recognizing their problem, and hopefully it’ll get better in the future.
The Wii doesn’t have a single game that interests me out yet that’s exclusive, and doesn’t have any coming out in the future except the new Smash Bros. I don’t like the remote control at all, it gets on my nerves as a gaming device.
Meanwhile, in PC, we’ve got the new Half Life Orange Box, Bioshock, and a few other PC focused games coming out soon, as well as innumerable fan projects I’m excited about such as Deus Ex: Reborn and the HL2 mod Zombie Master, which will soon be on version 1.2.0. All this delicious gaming on a machine much, much cheaper than a PS3, about the same as a 360, and with much more functionality than either.

#1 The kid was “bored” sounds like an excuse not to have any responsibility.
#2 I must agree that the shark tank of console manufacturers will continue to divide the gaming community with their gimmicks. It IS counter-productive to argue over X-Box versus WII versus PS let alone Chevy Versus Ford. It inflames our passion for what we THINK is number one.
#3 I’ve been building PCs since 1993, so now I should be considered biased, BS, but some will disregard anything I type henceforth based on that statement. I hold no hard feelings towards those of you who do.
The point is this; I build what I WANT driven towards the genre of game that I play and the applications I run. I choose not to go the way of the console because I feel anyone else telling me what I want will be futile. I feel the need for flexibility, meaning if I have an old Mainboard, I reserve the right to Upgrade and hopefully I will reap the reward of seeing my system performance increase accordingly. (I also remember the rush I had when I hardwired my first 2-speed CDROM into my “Non-Compatible” 80286 PC back in `93)
Have fun, that’s the key, if ever we forget how to game because we’re too fixed up on the box we own, we have missed the target.
Eye. it definitely makes sense for people to make choices based on their own desires. I can’t hold that against you. I’m not huge on PC games myself, but for some PC is the way to go.. it all depends on what your needs are.
I don’t think the PS3 is that expensive. Though as a game console comparing to X-box I do admit x-box does has their advantages doe to Micro$oft’s partnership. but still, if you notice all the add-ons that came pre-installed/inter-graded with the PS3 you will sure notice if you want the same thing on an X-Box it will go up for higher price then the PS3.
Not many people like to see this part of the product, once they see the killer price tag it isn’t good for them. But if you really take time on why it is expensive compare to the x-box then you know that in most point the PS3 is ‘much’ better then the 360. You get more, lots more fearture from the PS3 then you can even imagine.
In the end I think you are will be spending a lot less for a PS3 then an x-box.
