team fortress 2 Team Fortress 2 Update Optimizes Graphics

A Team Fortress 2 update was release yesterday through Steam which should be automatically downloaded for you. The official changes are as follows:

  • Added an option in the Options->Multiplayer dialog to filter custom game files being downloaded from servers
  • Fixed cases where ragdolls were falling through the world
  • Graphics optimizations for mid and low end hardware
  • Fixed players blocking doors in Well
  • Fixed engineer building in exploit areas on final caps in Well
  • Increased starting round timer to 10 minutes in Well

Whether that optimization has anything to do with actual performance isn’t readily apparent, but any help in that department would be much appreciated by those gamers without a high-end rig. I know I like being able to play my game on my laptop, but thanks to the lag, it’s near-impossible to go into an open-environment, let alone attempt to play anything other than Engineer.
