Tanks: A Good Game Never Dies

Tanks is a classic PC hot seat game that provided many gamers including myself, hours of fun as we took aim at our buddies or a CPU opponent for the anti-social and tried to blast them out of existence. The game required a bit of skill as you had to shell your opponent, adjusting your power and angle to account for wind speed and direction and terrain. Tanks spawned Scorched Earth in which players could choose different ammo and even tactical nukes. 0.The game grew up with us to inspire the Worms series.

eggsodest Tanks: A Good Game Never DiesHaving thoroughly enjoyed the game since it’s humble beginnings, I was surprised and amused to see my four year old playing a flash game of Tank… with chickens on a popular kids site. Egg of Destruction is for two players or one player vs. the PC. Each player adjusts angle, position and power to fire at its opponent. You’re still accounting for wind speed and direction and terrain obstacles, except your player is a chicken and your firing eggs at each other… which is kind of morbid when you think about it, but kids think its a blast. I guess some games never get old.
