Clever New Way to Carry Four Extra Memory Sticks

As the photo clearly states, this is only for the original PSP 1000s, but it’s still a pretty cool idea. The idea of a handheld is to be able to bring it with you wherever you go, but once you start factoring in bringing multiple games (and, in the case of the PSP, extra memory sticks) it all falls apart – for me, at least. Now assuming you can sacrifice the UMD slot in your PSP, then UMEMD is the perfect solution: it lets you carry around four extra memory sticks with a UMD-shaped holder.

The pricing has been announced on this Team Xecuter-developer accessory, but a post on their official forums states that they’ll be shipping in two weeks.

I’d definitely pick one up if they were designed for the PSP 2000, so hopefully something like that is in the works.

While the PSP 2200mAh battery is not hot, mind-blowing news, what is entirely new about it is the the bundle. The PSP Extended Extended Life Battery Kit contains a battery with 80% more life on the slim models and 20% on the original models. Two different plastic battery covers will be available for both the PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 models, but there are two things you should know about these new covers.

First off, owners of the slimmer PSP will experience a bulge due to the larger sized battery, and secondly, owners of the ‘Star Wars Ceramic White’ systems are out of luck. Sorry, Star Wars fans - if you want a newer battery you will just have to look like a patch work quilt. Hey, blame Sony, not me. However, the good news about all of this, is that when showing off your PSP to the fairer sex, guys can now say “Hey baby, check out my bulge” without the possibility of getting slapped. Well…maybe.

The peripheral will be released sometime in mid-December and will retail for around $50.
