The second entry of a Mythos beta journal by an anonymous source is up on TenTonHammer. This free to play MMO is described as a mixture of World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Guild Wars.

The first journal entry focused on installation, character creation, graphics and UI. The second part goes into the multi-player aspects including partying and zone instances.

Flagship Studios’ Mythos MMO is currently in closed beta testing. The latest update, Zone 3 The Umbral Peaks, was released earlier this week. Mythos looks like it’s shaping up to be a good game for Diablo fans to follow closely.

KOTOR 2 Restoration Project Entering Closed Beta

The long awaited Sith Lords KOTOR 2 Restoration Project version 1.0b1 will released to the closed beta team this weekend. As the last step in development before the v. 1.0c1 public release, it looks as this may be the year fans see the official release.

This mod project is very similar to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines in that the modding team is restoring content to the original game. At this point not all the content slated for restoration is back in, but Dashus has said more will probably be restored by the time the mod is released. For the projected list of what been restored and what’s being ignored, visit Team Gizka: What’s (being) restored.

TheSimsCarnival.com Enters Closed Beta

Posted by Shawn on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 at 4:07 pm under Electronic Arts, Computer, Games, Game Platforms, Game Companies

EA’s Rod Humble, the head of The Sims studio, announced an invitation to participate in a special closed beta of the new online community and game, The Sims Carnival. This latest Sims title allows gamers to design casual games with provided creation tools online or a more advanced tool set available for download.

According to the statistics, Sims fans spend half their time designing. In my experience, they spend most of the other half online looking for skins, recolored and new objects and global mods for their Sims. I don’t actually see my family “play” with their families that much. This new game The Sims Carnival may actually have something by encouraging the skinners and mod enthusiasts to take their hobby one step further. At the same time, the collectors will be besides themselves as they grab every new game that comes out.

Storyline:

“Dream of Mirror Online is a world that features sacred artifacts. The sacred artifact Kunlun Mirror that created the world, like some other artifacts in Swdol Online - familiar to hard-core players such as the Swdol and Monster Buster Pot, was a sacred artifact from mythical ancient China. Those sacred artifacts all have the powers to create and destroy the world.

Among those sacred artifacts, the Swdol represents the power of culture; and the monster buster pot symbolizes the creation of the world. The Kunlun Mirror was originally created to record everything. In the world created by the Kunlun Mirror, there is another world in the mirror that reflects the real world; it saves a copy of everything in the real world in the Kunlun Mirror world. Time does not exist in the Kunlun Mirror world but only in memories. The managers of the Kunlun Mirror world, twelve Mirror Kings, are responsible for the operation of the Kunlun Mirror world.”
