8800GTX full settings @ 1920x1200 = 50+fps
Love me

I agree a bit with you guys but if you have the monitor that supports really high res then you need the 8800gts or gtx.

actually the 320mb is rated much higher in dxdiag....i think it might be a bug because mine saids 1563mb with only one card :/ Anywho the 8800 gts will run any game fine...the 640mb is on par with 320mb....only difference is 640mb can run smoother at 1600 resolution and beyond

thought i'd say, 640 IS a mulitple of 128, it's 6*128, where 512 is 5*128. not that it really matters anyway

 I feel the exact same way. I too have an nvidia 8600 gts 256. im downloading the beta as we speak but these days your ammount of ram and the balls of your processor will balance performance of even a crap card. me, i have an amd 5600 x2 core, with 1 gig ddr800 so... NO PROBLEMS HERE!!!

I run Trackmania United @ 1680x1050 (max monitor resolution) with everything on BUT the motion blur (cause it messes me up!!) and it runs @ just about 100 fps. why the hell would i want to buy a video card for 3x the money, just to say i get about 50 more frames that you cant even tell are there!?!

I got 8600 GTS 256MB and I can run ut3 beta at 1280x1024 with all settings max and 50fps. All this crap about needing super cards to run games is bs, honeslty my ol' geforce 4 ti4600 still kicks alot of ass today, if your not playing leading edge games, ran source games fine at high at same res. For my money buy a medium range card, instead of top, cause by the time ur top of the line 8800GTX will be fully used, current shader/dx lvl will be outdated, or someother feature will be.
