Being stuck between Voldemort and the Ministry of Magic and having everybody think you’re a liar is bad enough with out getting hung up in a game. For those players having trouble surviving their fifth year at Hogwarts, Xbox.com has some tips and tricks to get them back on track to enjoying the game. Most of these tips are applicable to all consoles so everyone can benefit from them. Many of the suggestions are common sense, but worth mentioning just the same as the brain can sometimes disengage when you hit a wall. Make sure to explore an area thoroughly before moving on. Use your Marauder’s Map to explore everything around you unless you are on a timed mission. Your patience will pay off in the end. Anything that can be interacted with will glow and you can cycle through each item with the left trigger if you happen to over look something. Talk to everyone and fix all those broken or misplaced objects to earn your achievements. Talking to all the students is the way to get into all the mini games like Exploding Snap and practice spells by dueling.

Puzzles are often geared to train you on how to use new spells so try those first. Also, areas and items not accessible at first can be triggered later as player’s spells grow in power during the game. The developers really did mean for players to have fun in this game and included an in-game hint section that can be accessed through the start menu. Make sure to use it if you get stuck and listen to everyone around you for more hints.

When my family plays some of us experience a lot of frustration with using spells. The article suggests players go through the motions with a little less enthusiasm if they can’t pull off the moves. Slowly and gently will get the job done. I hope to be able to use some of these with my kids as they really need the strap with their Wii-motes. Fortunately, we don’t need a screen protector. We have a projector and a little plaster will take care of any holes in the wall.
