“Strong Chance” Silicon Knights will Return to Eternal Darkness

You shouldn’t take this as any formal announcement, but it certainly sounds like Denis Dyack and Silicon Knights would like to revisit Eternal Darkness. It was one of the best and most unique games you could find on GameCube, so it’s not surprising that the demand is there. Dyack assured fans that the interest is mutual, and that Silicon Knights doesn’t want to get stuck in a single genre.

“There is a chance; we love all the games we work on. We don’t want to be pigeon-holed [into a genre], we want to be known for strong content…There’s a strong chance we’ll return to it, but there’s no announcements yet,” he told TVG yesterday, when asked about the possibility of a return to the series.

So I think it’s safe to say that Eternal Darkness 2 is inevitable. On what platforms or when is a mystery that Dyack himself might not even know.
