Street Fighter IV’s Chun-Li is a Champion Thumb Wrestler

There have been numerous complaints from gamers regarding the new look of Street Fighter IV, with it’s somewhat cartoonish and disproportioned take on the franchise. Personally, I’ve been okay with the new look — it takes some getting used to, but it still looks good — but this new art for the game has given me and apparently many others reason for pause. When you look at this image of Chun-Li, what’s the first thing that you see? Is it the little buns in her hair? Her bulging biceps? Or is it that massive thumb that looks like it could crush rocks? Kris Pigna over at 1Up is calling “WTF!?” on this one, and I have to agree. I’m sure the full game will be great, but seriously, I have trouble imagining someone looking at that image over at Capcom and thinking nothing looked odd. Unless they’ve added some backstory now about how she accidentally killed a man during a thumb wrestling competition, I guess.

The problem i’m seeing with the game is that everyone is..how should I say this, “too buffed?”
I want to put that thumb on a bun. It looks mighty tasty!

Man thighs and a thumb thats screwed up is just weird.

It’s because the other fingers are goiing the other way. It’s NOT a plain open palm.
She a look a like a man….. but yes too buff. one of those body builder chick types, she will bend u over.
