After months of waiting – the game released on Xbox 360 back in August – Stranglehold for the PS3 has finally gone gold. It seemed like the game was going to become vaporware, being pushed back more times than I can count. PS3 owners will finally be able to get their hands on the John Woo-inspired action game, and those who opt for the collector’s edition will also get the Blu-ray edition of Hard Boiled right on their game disc. Now that is worth an extra $10.

The game received fairly good reviews on the Xbox 360 with its Max Payne style of gameplay. If you’re a fan of Max Payne or John Woo flicks, you’ll definitely want to pick up Strangehold. And for once, I feel like I can fully endorse getting the collector’s edition, because for $10 you really can’t go wrong with a great movie on Blu-ray.

The movie is a nice touch. Something more than worth the extra for a collector’s edition. Glad to see the PS3 people finally getting more and more decent stuff on the market for their enjoyment.

Agreed. I hope that more companies take advantage of doing bonus content like this for the PS3. Some of Midways other upcoming titles, like Ballers and Wheelman, could have some really cool bonus content if they took advantage of the Blu Ray player.
