We know there are going to be enemies of some sort in LittleBigPlanet, but we’ve yet to see them in action or really hear anything about them. They might not be the focal point of the game in the same way they are in a shooter, but still, what gives?

The real reason why we haven’t seen them? Well, they can’t really be seen.

Stephen Totilo from over at MTV learned at a recent perss event that developer Media Molecule isn’t focused on pre-made enemies. What you’ll see in lieu of that are different AI brains with various behaviors, which can then be attached to anything you create in the game. Of course, a lump of wood might not make for much of an enemy, but the potential for truly grand enemies straight out of your nightmares are just a LittleBigPlanet away. (I know that was lame, shatup.)

You can find out some other really interesting details on LBP over at MTV Multiplayer, including how you could design a level to work as a rhythm game and the ability to bestow gifts upon other players.
