Steve Jobs announced during San Francisco “Let’s Rock” event yesterday, that the iPod Touch is “the best portable device for playing games”. Take THAT Nintendo DS and Sony PSP! Steve Jobs has spoken, that is all…….
Well, not really.
The event also showed off the new-generation iPod which is tilt-sensitive, works with iTunes 8 and the Genuis playlist creator, is slimmer, boasts a built-in speaker and physical volume controls, wireless support for Nike+, and a longer battery life which will include six hours for videos and 36 hours for music.
The head of Apple also mentioned that the iTunes App Store sold over 100 million apps since its July launch. Also at the event, Real Soccer 2009, Spore Origins and Need for Speed Undercover were demoed.
I still own the old fashioned 120Gb iPod Classic which is fine and dandy with me. I cannot afford an iPod Touch, AT&T screws you on the iPhone plan and all I really care about using it for is music anyway. I am fine with my old-timey iPod and my Samsung Instinct. Both gadgets and my DS cost me less than an iPhone and I give enough money to iTunes on a daily basis anyway.

i bought my 32gb touch with my economy stimulus check. i’m a PATRIOT cause i wnt and spent. hurrah.
then the NEW 32gb itouch comes out and it’s $100 less than what i paid for the 1st gen itouch. DAMN THE MAN.
“Best portable device for playing games”? I’ll believe it when I see it.
I’m also going to have to criticize their usage of the word “funnest” when describing their product. Welcome to the degradation of the English language!
Sounds like you got the shaft there Mooshi. That totally sucks.
Go Marlins!!!!
What ever I still think that the PSP is the best
Jobs is an idiot for that statement.
As hekynn is for his statement. Or at the very least for making ‘whatever’ into two words when it isn’t two words. Still, I want him. So bad that I may jump off a cliff if I do not have him this instant.
Apple creates fad products. No serious power user or expert would ever use anything they create. Their proprietary junk is just that, junk.
Steve Jobs smokes weed from Apples. But not the fruit respectively.
Yeah, the current gaming scene on the iPhone sucks. Hard.
The platform clearly has tremendous potential: the graphics (potentially) look better than anything before. The innovative control opportunites are huge. But potential and $.05 will get you … $.05. Too many lazy, esay, quick, or still born projects out there. Still waiting for someone to ‘figure out’ how to implement a full set of touch and motion based controls. It’s a lot of potential that’s amounted to nothing just yet.
