Tabula Digita has scored a two year license to be part of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education initiative. Its Algebra-based videogames have proved they can raise students interest and knowledge of math skills.

According to Business Wire, the Center for Advancement for STEM Education (CASE) program is used in 10 schools in the US and is funded by the Department of Defense’s National Defense Education Program (NDEP) initiative.

CASE encourages the use of the latest technology and cutting-edge best practices in order to truly engage students in STEM education. “Youngsters today are like no other generation before them, they are digital natives,” said Dr. Nancy J. Priselac, CASE’s director of training. “We can’t continue to teach in the same manner as we’re used to, if we want students to be enthused about learning. We need to incorporate the latest, most exciting technology.”

If you could stand to brush up on your Algebra, you can check out Tabula Digita’s DimensionM series of educational videogames at the official website. Whether you’re an educator or traditional teaching methods mere bore you to death, the DimensionM titles offer 3-D learning environments and action-packed virtual worlds with embedded algebra instruction. If it’s good enough for the Department of Defense, it must be a good thing, right?
