Valve announced today that their digital content platform, Steam, has now accumulated over 13 million accounts. It began as a way for game developers to auto-update their releases and has since grown to include online distribution and retailing. The service got off to a rocky start when it was first introduced, with numerous server crashes and system bugs. Since then however most of those issues have been fixed and Steam is now one of the top places to get online content; not to mention the server host for many popular games, such as Counter-Strike Source and Half-Life 2 Deathmatch.
