Star Wars Galaxies: Chapter 7 Sneak Peek

The Star Wars Galaxies team previewed Chapter 7 at SOE’s Fan Faire this year. For those of us that didn’t attend here’s a glimpse of some of the features of Chapter 7, including heroic encounters, a collection system, species origins, and more.

Heroic encounters are high-level group encounters that offer huge rewards for epic challenges. The encounters are instanced so there is no need to worry about competition from other groups. The Township of Aurilia is the hub for the quests that lead to these encounters. Players can take on the newly re-designed Axkva Min and her finest protectors, a legion of Tuskan Raiders or other epic challenges.

Chapter 7 expands on the collection system. Players will not only collect badges; they will collect kills of specific creatures and rare items from across the galaxy to cash in for credits or more exotic and rare rewards yet to be revealed.

Species Origins will allow characters to flesh out their back story creating a background. They will receive a special one-time for their efforts.

The Imperial quest system is being revamped ala the Rebel Theme Park changes in Chapter 6: Masters of the Wild. The new content is aimed at higher level characters. Other changes players can look forward to are new additions to the game interface and the Chapter 7 gift as well as hundreds of objects, badges, and rewards which will be covered in the next update.

Star Wars Galaxies Chapter 7 update is due out September 2007.
