Just a note, a "cannon" is used to shoot people, a "canon" is a volume of information. Also, Paramount hasn't abandoned the future beyond Nemesis, they are simply trying to tell a story, they are also not changing canon by doing so. It is likely that Paramount/CBS will continue stories past Nemesis and blow this history out of the water, as what appears on screen is canon, and what is in other media, may become canon, due to on-screen reference, but it is not guaranteed.
