The developers of the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky have released this video showing some of the graphical features the game will be able to pull of with DirectX 10. As you can see, they’ve got some amazing stuff to show off. Dynamic smoke, enhanced rain and water effects, more dramatic lighting: it’s all pretty impressive. This new installment will act as a prequel to the first game, and it looks to be coming along very well from the looks of things.

Time to get Vista.
Annnnnnd everyone who went and spent $2000 to upgrade their machines so they could play Crysis maxed will now pass out as they realize they have to spend another $2000
@mooshimooshi
You really have no idea what your talking about do you? I only spent $650 on my pc and it runs Crysis fine maxed, +$200 for the monitor but that doesn’t impact performance.
Anyone who actually spent $2,000 is pretty messed up in the head or they just really like to put money into their PC, but they surely won’t have to upgrade their PC.
This game wont come close to being as much of a resource hog as Crysis was anyways.
MG: yeah, anyone that pays $2000 for an upgrade or even $1200 is pretty much crazy, but please don’t lie, no one has been able to run crysis on maxed settings, as stated by VoodooTech on the new 9800GTX (or a card along those lines). Or did you run it on a 192×120 Res?
9800GX2 is the card you’re thinking of.
Funny, I can run Crysis with its settings maxed at my monitor’s default resolution, which I’m sure is what MG is talking about.
A $200 price tag wouldn’t equate a 30″ LCD monitor, so I’m sure you can toss out the possibility of him running it at 2560×1600 out the window.
