EA has released the first PC patch for Spore. It should come as no surprise to Sims fans the that along with bug fixes and tweaks, EA has included some built in cheats for players.
Players are invited to use the “evoadvantage” cheat which will let you choose one of your more evolved creatures from the Sporepedia to start a new game with. This is a great cheat for players who enjoy the civilization building gameplay more than the process of evolving your creatures from square one. The other cheats are more cosmetic. The “blocksmode” will turn your creation into blocky representations of themselves. There are also three new style filters; microscope, norainbows and nextgen.
The patch does require the EA Download Manager. You can find the link for the manager and complete details on the patch on the Spore website. For all of you Mac gamers out there, stay tuned for a patch coming up soon.

So this patch will go out to all of the 20 people that bought it instead of torrenting it.
