Spore in Testing, Release Six Months Away

Will Wright has announced that the extremely ambitious Spore is fully playable and is in final testing. Even better than that, it looks to be on track for release in about six months – that might sound like a long way away, but considering how long the game has been in development for, it’s great to have even a loose date to look forward to.

“We have the game fully playable at this point and it’s in final testing,” Wright said yesterday in an interview with Radio 5 Live. He continued, “We’ve had to do a lot of testing to make sure that the game is accessible by a wide group of people.”

“I want the people who have played The Sims to be able to play Spore – I don’t want it to be some thing just hardcore gamers play.”

PC gamers, get ready for the spring of ’08, because Spore is finally coming.
