Sony’s Profit Falls 68 Percent

Poor Sony–when is it going to catch a break? According to biz.GameDaily.com, sales are up but profits are down. Way down.
The fiscal year ended March 31, and the discrepancy between the amount of Playstation 3s Sony shipped out and the amount it sold was nearly two million. Keep in mind that Nintendo can’t keep the shelves stocked.
The game division is obviously the place where the most losses were incurred, but it looks like fewer PS2s were sold than usual, too. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that one, though.
Sony did offer some hope for themselves, though–they decreased production costs by nearly $100 per unit. Guess how much of that buyers are going to see…
