Sony New Years Resolution: All PS3 Games Must Have Trophies

For all of you PS3 fans who are envious of Xbox 360 Achievements, Sony has mandated that all PS3 titles must come with trophies starting in 2009. Videogamer.com was tipped of earlier this week and has received confirmation from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe that “Yes from Jan 09 all games must have trophies.”
I’m all for this. There is another level of satisfaction at ferreting out and winning the trophies for a game above and beyond the fun factor alone. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are slowly leveling the playing field and gamers are better off for it.
Glad they will be released with the game. Tired of pulling out games I stopped playing months ago just to get some trophies built up. Was starting to fear they were going to make a habit of it to try and get a second boost of sales when they slumped.
That’s a faulty assumption. You’re assuming PS3 game sales ever DIDN’T slump, which is untrue. No one plays that, erm.. “console” because it’s inferior to the Xbox 360. I don’t own either system but I’ve played them both extensively and the winner is clear. Sony sucks. Wii doesn’t even enter into it.
In short, even with “trophies” even the best PS3 game is inferior to even the worst Xbox or even Wii game.

LBP is one of the best games on any console and is the first game on the PS3 that will get people to actually go out and buy a PS3 - question this? Just look at the figures.
The rest of your argument is weak and full of flaws - if you haven’t got anything useful to say then don’t say anything at all.
