dugame38: Please die. And stop spamming. Spamming isn’t going to help you get customers; in fact, if you have to resort to spamming, then that means your business was a stupid idea and it’s going to fail no matter what you do. Therefore, the smart thing to do would be to quit while you’re ahead.

As for the topic itself, LittleBigPlanet isn’t going to be anywhere near the uber-weapon Sony claim it is in the stupid little ‘console war’ the media has manufactured and the developers are pandering to.

It’ll help, sure, but no one game will ever be enough to single-handedly bring success to a console.

Sony are just on an ego trip with this one, not entirely unlike Microsoft when they were ranting on about Halo. In fact, almost exactly the same. They’re both just as bad as each other.

Wouldn’t sell a ps3 for me, though i already have one, if i didn’t it wouldn’t sell it.
Nevertheless i am going to buy this game because its looks fun and is also very different to all the games i play.

I agree with people saying it won’t sell consoles but disagree with anyone who thinks its a crap game, simply because it isn’t your standard FPS/RPG/RTS and so on.

This, along with MAG, would be the only reasons i’d buy a PS3. Simply because they both fall in my interest. LittleBigPlanet is that “crazy” game that almost no one will play, while MAG is the innovative big title. And i’m pretty much an Xbox Fanboy(except i actually have some sense)

I am a sony fanboy and most certainly don’t find this game to be a hardware seller in any way… now something i would consider a hardware seller would be sequels of epic ps2 games… like god of war, killzone, mgs, naruto:ultimate ninja, final fantasy(which square sadly fell to the darkside and let microsoft have its hands on >.< )… platformers just aren’t a very loved game type which is why this will not be a hardware seller… hardware sellers tend to be rpg and fps

Its not going to be a system seller but it will be one for those already with PS3’s. They would have to put a massive marketing campaign behind it and to try and explain this game in about 40 seconds is damn hard. It’s not a sequel to anything so there is no reputation behind it already, they can’t put out some flashy cinematic trailer because the game has nothing cinematic about it. Trying to make this game a system seller is like trying to advertise Myspace on TV. no-one going to care unless everyone else is doing it

I don´t own a ps3 yet, but this is one of the titles that are the reason to buy it. I want to play MGS4 too, but if i had to choose which game was more influential – then i have to say LBP (at the moment, who knows .. in the end the game sucks).

I totally agree, this will not in be a hardware seller. People nowadays wont just buy a console for one specific game. Customers look at it as an investment for later games and the casual gamers wont just open their wallets for one exclusive.

I was hyped about SSBB but it did not drive me to go buy a Wii just to play it, same with GTA IV.

what a stupid story, even if one person buys a ps3 because of this game, it can be termed a hardware seller. They give no numbers and cite no market research. Its just a stupid comment, which anyone can prove true by defining the term hardware seller.

Not to be ignorant but…

Something tells me this isn’t going to be a hardware seller. It just doesn’t seem like a game that a person would say “Oh my god, I can’t live without that game, I’m going to buy a PS3 because of this exclusive.”

I know I’m a 360 fanboy…but even if happened to be a 360 exclusive I’d still find myself feeling dumb saying this would give 360 the edge over the PS3.

The game definitely looks cool though, I may try to convince my friend to buy it (but no…this isn’t going to make me buy a PS3.)
