Sonic the Hedgehog Appearing in Smash Bros. Brawl

There’s been rumors and countless poorly photoshopped images, but still fans have only had their hopes that Sonic would make an appearance in Smash Bros. Brawl. Until now. The Smash Bros. Dojo’s latest update has just revealed possibly the most anticipated news about the game yet: Sonic the Hedgehog will indeed be a playable character in Smash Bros. Brawl. There’s even a short movie on the site showing the infamous blue speedster in action. No details yet on what some of his special abilities will be or if there will be a Sonic-themed arena, but those questions will most likely be answered in due time. Rejoice, Wii owners, for the gaming gods have smiled on us this day.

Infact, what better way than to bring the two together in a fighting game.

I’m sorry to see Hank’s idiotic comment had to be first on this amazing story. He doesn’t speak for all Nintendo fans. I personally love the idea of finally being able to pit Mario and Sonic together in battle. Having DK and Mario fighting like the old school days was alright, but this is what all Smash Bros. fans have been dreaming of since we first heard of Smash Bros. on the N64.
I can guarantee that I will be choosing Sonic as the first character I play this December.

To be honest, I was gonna get the game anyhow, but this just gives it an emergency priority 1a red alert pinnacle status…basically, it’s now on the “definitely definitely” list of games to get.
Also, from the video, it looks like his special will be Super Sonic. Obviously, can’t confirm it, but it would be totally frikkin’ awesome.
too bad we’re not sure if the game is delayed in America yet.
if you go to http://www.smashbros.com and look at the release date, it says TBD now instead of how it said Dec. 3, 2007 for months.

I’m not a big smash player but I recognize that a LOT of people were hoping for this, so thats cool for them. I’m glad we can finally put this to rest.
@johnwilson1990 I’ve heard nothing about it being delayed, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
I’m not particularly surprised Sonic is in the game (I expected him to be), but it’s nice to know that he is for sure. I’ll definitely give him a try, but I don’t expect him to be my main character judging from the video on the Dojo.
I am already broke as it is with planned Christmas shopping. I knew I wanted this but it will be one of the gifts for the family to play. I’m already commited to get a PSP and Final Fantasy Tactics for myself, this game, some more DS games for my daughter, another Wii mote and nunchuck (I know it’s spelled wrong but so what) and memory card for the Wii, a DVD player for her. It may not seem like a lot but on my budget, whew. That’s why I’m starting now.
Lol…forgot to mention that I watched the trailer and Sonic does look interesting. I’m not sure who my character will be as I’ve never played Smash Bros. before but know enough to know it’s popular.
Finally, another acrobat. I’m only good with characters that are fast and can move swiftly through the air. In melee shiek was the only acrobat, but now I can use sonic too.
By the by: OH YEAH!!! SONIC IS IN THE GAME!!! Just 2 more months… or more…
smart move nintendo, this and then the delay but if it’s only a month delay I say the blow has been softened.
I was kidding. Sorry, but it was fun. Of course Sonic is a great addition to the Brawl crew. Can we now hope for Megaman and Final Fantasy’s Black Mage?
sonic on brawl this is the most best day of my life unteal brawl comes out. and I hope that thay make a game that sonic & mario swap places and you can see whos better witch sonic is better in marios world than mario whould be in sonics fast pasted world.
p.s. Im geting my chaned to sonic after my grandad dies witch is going to happen some time.
Sonic the hedghog and Mario should have been in supper smash brothers in the first place! please tell me im not alone here! Nintendo, and Sega have been compeating for years, and both Mario and Sonic are the Iconic charactors for both the companies. So those two fighting in a well antistpated game like this would sute both companies.
In fact Nintendo, Sega and capcom’s, charactors in a wild free for allwould make for a great fight! Who doesent want to see Sonic, Mario, and mega man duke it out?
