Sonic Appearing in Smash Bros. Brawl?

Rumors have been flying since the announcement of Smash Bros. Brawl that Sonic the Hedgehog would finally be joining the ranks of the popular fighting game. Unfortunately, it’s been hard to take them seriously since the same rumors cropped up for Smash Bros. Melee. However now it seems an EB Games in Woodbridge, NJ is displaying a pre-order ad for the game that shows Sonic standing shoulder to shoulder with Nintendo’s finest. The image also show Birdo from Super Mario Bros. 2 and K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing. A store employee was quick to point out that it’s just a mock-up for the game’s box art, but that looks pretty professional for something someone would’ve just slapped together. Usually these sorts of things look like cheap color print outs. And with Sonic and Mario already confirmed to be sharing the spotlight in a game based on the 2008 Olympics, this seems more plausible this time around.

considering brawl isn’t suposed to come out in places like the uk till early 2008 this is a good theory. Think about it; when the rest of the world finds out that sonic is suposed to be in the game it would increase there anticipation and force them to sit on their money until the games release.

Ps. Lucas is in the game, I think he’s replacing ness aswell, although he’d probably have a similar moveset.

Espio? Nah. If they added a second Sonic universe character then it would have to be Shadow. Also George isn’t the creator, he just linked to it if you want to check the news that is posted.

Not that I hate Espio or anything. I really like him though honestly in terms of popularity(as far I as know) Shadow is ranked higher than Espio. I mean Shadow got his game though Espio didn’t. So yeah if Nintendo allowed a clone character of Sonic, then it would be Shadow. Though Shadow wouldn’t be a clone exactly. He could have a moveset similar to Mewtwo’s from Melee.

Lucas isn’t a third party character, but the third space (if there actually is one(which I doubt)) will probably be filled by megaman. As for other sonic characters narutothecameleon, Smash bros is a nintendo game and even if sonic isn’t in it it will still be awesome, I just don’t think people truly appriciate how lucky they would be if sonic is in the game. People are getting a little greedy with all the characters they think are going to be in the game. I mean, masahiro sakurai likes to be careful with the Nintendo characters he puts in, let alone third party ones…

SECONDLY-the reason all the pictures of characters are taken from other games is because the creators of this boxart have already admitted that this was to stir up intrest in the game for preorders, which you already would have known if you bothered to read the information at the top of the page.

If you had made your point more clear Nicholas Long by saying something like “uh, Petey isn’t in the playable roster, but I’m gunna make a point of somethin’ that has been made blatantly obvious anyway,” I might not have got so pissed off.
Naruto the chameleon, blader’s completely right about the whole Sonic clone situation thing. Also, Tails has had a couple of his own games, both of which were alot better than Shadow the hedgehog, don’t get me wrong though, they were still crappy games.
I’m not trying to start an argument, I just don’t think other sonic characters are as deserving as sonic himself…
ps. I never managed to get superhard difficulty on heroes, is it worth getting all those A’s? ’cause if not i’d rather play on Sa2

1) From the ending of the clip…I think it’s pretty easy to guess what his special attack will be. Sweet. (…Super Sonic)
2) What will his themed level be? Will he get one? If so, my betting is on Green Hill.
