Sonic and the Black Knight Thinks There Weren't Enough Speedy Hedgehogs in King Arthur's Time

Remember when you were eight years old and you thought it would be so cool if the King Arthur story you were reading in school included Sonic the Hedgehog. Maybe you even put all your heart into writing a short story with Sonic fighting dragons, rescuing a princess, and becoming King, all while riding a motorcycle, swinging a special magic sword, and using strange powers that were vaguely identical to some of the X-men’s; which you then turned into a teacher who gave you a bad grade even though Susie got an “A” for writing a boring story about cats that save butterflies or something stupid like that. Okay, so that never actually happened to me, but I’m guessing that someone over at Sonic Team had a similar experience that made them vow to one day fuse the worlds of Sonic and King Arthur, no matter how ridiculous it may sound to their adult mind. Well, it looks like that day has come to pass with the upcoming Wii-exclusive “Sonic and the Black Knight.”
Just like Sonic’s last Wii outing, Sonic and the Secret Rings, had the blue speedball leaping into the story of Aladdin, this game will have him traipsing through the tale of King Arthur. You’ll guide Sonic through a medieval world as he becomes a hero and knight with the help of a new sword…yes, you read that right.
“Sonic and the Black Knight is a stunning adventure into an epic land and story that no gamer can resist,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “Gamers will experience all the excitement of mastering a sword and true knighthood, as well as the classic, speedy, 2D/3D gaming action that Sonic is famous for.”
The game is gue out in Spring of 2009. Apparently, this will be the second in the “storybook series” of Sonic games that Sega has planned, which means you can probably expect “Snow White and the Seven Sonics” sometime in the future.
