Social Engineering Prank Against Wal-Mart

The above prank is a perfect example of why you should never listen to a random person on the telephone giving you computer repair instructions. From a legal stand point, this guy could be in some serious trouble for tricking a Wal-Mart employee to cut the power supply and monitor wires on a store computer. I’m not sure whether to laugh or feel bad for the person that was tricked. She’ll probably lose her job over this event.

never had any respect for the clowns that pull these kinds of stunts. same for the radio show idiots who do the same and think it’s funny.
Yeah it’s sort of funny but not really in a ha-ha kind of way. This dude probably just got some lady fired from her Wal-Mart job. For some of us a job is a joke that can be easily replaced, but we don’t really know her situation.
ohhh rednecks :]
thats sooo mean, and wrong, but yet some people whould know this is kinda fishy
Lmao!! Thats pretty funny! It’s horrible that he would tell someone this but damn, that employee… haha
its funny, in some way.
i used to work as phone tech support and i’ve always wanted to screw around sometimes.
but i prolly wouldn’t have done this anyway… poor woman.
Given that this brain-trust posted his little stunt on YouTube, it doesn’t seem like it’d be that tough to track him down. Maybe he’s not as smart as he thinks he is after all.
@Spiral: I agree.. you’d be surprised how many people basically post evidence that ends up getting them thrown in jail on the net. When I worked for the police myself a while back, we busted several people for evidence they posted on their Myspace pages.
1. if you value your job, you need to know about the tools you’re working with
2. verification!
3. yep, i’m a cashier, that’s why I’m speaking with corporate.
this lady was all sorts of dumb and if she didn’t get fired by this, I’m certain something else will certainly get her canned.
@weclock: you might be right, but you also have to realize that the world is full of stupid people.. doesn’t mean they should be taken advantage of. If I took advantage of every moron I came across, I’d be doing something bad every 20 minutes.
he made her cut the power wire ?? i donĀ“t know, but this sounds life threatening – should have called me, i would have given him nightmares about killing someone.
@William
You’re right about the advantage thing.
