The Smash Bros. Dojo was updated today with a very interesting new item. The Assist Trophy. It seems that the Assist Trophy is basically a Pokeball. Instead of a Pokemon coming out though, a character that isn’t a part of the Smash Bros. Brawl roster comes out to assist the player in any way they can.

The examples of such characters that were given were a Hammer Bros., Samurai Goro (from F-Zero), and even a Nintendog. And the Dojo also informs us that there will be some characters “only the most dedicated fans will recognize”. Bring it on Nintendo…. bring it on.

You know, this might be where the whole Sonic thing could come from. He isn’t on the roster (unless a secret) but this COULD happen…be awesome if it was.

Tails and Knuckels should be assist trophies while Shadow is a playable character
