The Smash Bros. Dojo seems to be picking up the pace with updates now, as the site has begun dishing out new info on the game in pairs this week. Today’s update features the new, revamped Pokemon Stadium and Mario’s special move. The new Pokemon Stadium starts out looking similar to the way it did in Smash Bros. Melee, but then alternates between four different themed stadiums: Electric, Ground, Ice, and Flying. Each of these changes affect the characters in different ways. Ice, for example, is a more slippery arena; and Flying gives each characters’ jump a boost.

The Dojo also revealed Mario’s new special move, where he whips out his trusty F.L.U.D.D. unit and sprays foes with a stream of water. The attack does no damage, but it can be charged up and used to blast opponents out of the arena. Besides that, it seems his old, special “tornado” move is now becoming a normal attack.

Seriously, every update they put out for this game just makes it look ridiculously better and better.

Since you asked nicely (seriously, we don’t get that a lot around here, so thank you  ). Part of what we do on this site is collect the gaming news for the day into one stop for people to get most of their info. Most games hold off on releasing new information for awhile and then release a lot of info altogether through press releases and such. Smash Bros. on the other hand trickles out something new every weekday through their website alone. We could wait until it builds up and then report it all at once, but then it’d be really old by internet standards and not even worth covering.

On the more technical side, all the writers for this website have quotas to meet. Unfortunately, there isn’t always a whole lot of news out there to choose from all the time. So we often have to dig into stories that may not be some of the most interesting material, but it’s basically what we have. This gets especially bad in the days leading up to a major gaming event, where companies don’t even bother trying to get attention (like with the Halo 3 launch).

So yeah, basically, it helps us knock out an easy post for the day, and it makes one less website our readers have to troll through for all the information they’re looking for.
