Smash Bros. Brawl Solves the Problem of Opponents Quitting During Online Play

This happens to me way too often: I’m wrapped up in an intense online game, when suddenly everything shudders to stop. Then I usually wind up back at the game’s start menu, because someone — usually from the losing side — decided to just drop out. That’s probably why today’s Smash Bros. Dojo entry is particularly interesting to me. We’ve already heard how you’ll be able to pair up against both friends and anonymous players online, but what happens if your opponent drops out or loses their connection? Thankfully, the game keeps going. If a player suddenly ends up leaving the match, the CPU takes over, without you even noticing. The only unfortunate drawback is that this won’t happen if you’re playing against friends. That, and a CPU usually isn’t as difficult as an actual player. Still, this is way better than having to stop midway through a match just because someone couldn’t take the epic beating you laid down on them.

I endorse this towards all future online video games.
in Unreal Tournament servers there was an option to set minimum player limit,
so for example on limit “2″, when one of the players quit, server would send a bot into the game
This happened for Star Trek Armada in online games where the AI would take over if someone crashed or left.
