Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been showered with praise by critics and anticipated by gamers for over a year. So it should probably come as no surprise that the game has already broken one of Nintendo of America’s personal records. The company is reporting that it is already their fastest selling game ever, having sold 1.4 million copies in the U.S. alone — with around 874,000 of those being sold on March 9th, the game’s launch date. It’s actually been sold at a rate of 120 units per minute between launch and March 16th. That means, for the past week, two people have bought a copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl every second. Now that’s pretty impressive (and yet I still haven’t gotten around to getting my copy yet).

…
I need to get my copy soon.
I bought mine on the 9th. I have been having fun, as well as my daughter. I think she unlocked Falco. Obviously we haven’t gotten that far in the game in terms of unlockable characters and stages.
Reason:
Many people have a Wii.
Many people wanted a non-party-game game for their Wii.
Many people bought the game.
Repeat steps 1-3 and you have the cycle of the Nintendo Wii.
Kudos to Nintendo for making one of the greatest games of all time and it isn’t even during the holiday season.
Nintendo lost banjo kazooie actually. Rare went to microsoft and refuses to have anything to do with nintendo anymore. To bad too cause banjo kazooie would have been really cool in smash. Tails as well. And I miss mewtwo…
