Sierra has announced the return of Crash Bandicoot to gaming. While Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant introduces new abilities, his “signature bandicoot hilarity” will remain in tact.
The game is a platformer set on mythical Wumpa Island, somewhere south of Australia, which players will be able to roam freely. Neo Cortex and N. Brio have created “a text-messaging, do-anything device.” Crash can now control any mutant or bandicoot mind he can jack. Players will be able to upgrade defeated enemies and use their abilities as well. In an effort to draw more girl gamers in, Coco is now a playable character in co-op mode.
Crash’s new abilities will allow him to dodge and counter moves. He also has a number of new way to move around his environment. He can climb verticly and jump from side-to-side. Apparently he also can dig to unearth bonuses.
Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant, the fifteenth title in Crash Bandicoot series, is due out autumn 2008.

And I was hoping it would go back to the roots….
I want the oldschool crash back, honestly…
Ah well, we’ll see how this turns out. It seems more promising than the others did…
