Sid Meier, the legend behind the Civilization series has given his stamp of approval to the PS3 system. The game guru mentioned that gamers will be completely amazed by the PS3 once developers catch up with the system’s power. He used words such as “light years ahead” to describe the system. This may not seem like big news, but I think when Sid Meier says something, people do in fact listen. The guy also just happens to know what he’s talking about. I also think we will start noticing more and more PC developers making the jump to console gaming in the near future which can only be good news for all the systems. I have continually stated that the PS3 has an extremely bright future. You can doubt myself and others now, but tell me what you think a year from now.
PlayStation 3 may be off to a slow start (the console sold a little over 80K units for the second straight month) but Sony recently got a boost that can only help the console’s long-term prospects. One of the industry’s “game gods” (often referred to as the “father of computer gaming”), Sid Meier, has endorsed the PS3 and you’d be surprised by the kinds of games he’s enjoyed playing lately.
The Director of Creative Development at Firaxis Games has been honored with all sorts of accolades for his PC game creations (Civilization, Railroad Tycoon, Alpha Centauri to name a few), but now according to an interview on PlayStation.com, Meier will turn his attention to next-generation console gaming.
“Thanks to the launch of platforms like PlayStation 3 the time is finally right for this transition,” he explained. “Computers no longer have the edge on set-top systems. The technology is there; the audience is ready for deeper and more gripping experiences; and the bar’s formally been raised in terms of enthusiasts’ expectations. I hate to use the word convergence, but I don’t know how else to describe the situation… The timing couldn’t be more perfect.”

Sid Meier, his game is not about graphics. He is a PC game god but PC gaming platform is dying. He is only good at one type of game and that game market has long disappeared.
naaaaa pc always catches up.
,but ps3 is a nice powerful system.
